Flanders' Fields - Canadian Voices from WWI

In 2007 the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) released the full 17 hours of recordings originally released in December 1964.  That may not seem so long ago for many of the children and grandchildren of the Great War Veterans, but it was 44 years ago.

The 17 part radio series, now available on audio DVD, provides the first hand accounts of the famous battles in the words of the veterans.  You can order your copy of this incredible historical reference here:

In 2008, CEFSG member Bob Richardson assembled a list of the men who provided those interviews back in the 1960's.  These lists are now available for everyone to see and compare to the audio DVDs.  As they become available from Bob, the links in the following list will become active:

  1. Age of Innocence (no interviews)

  2. Canada Answers the Call

  3. The Great Expedition

  4. Baptism of Fire

  5. The Second Battle of Ypres

  6. A World of Stealth

  7. Apprentices at Arms

  8. The Somme

  9. The Battle of Vimy Ridge

  10. The Battle of Passchendaele

  11. Discussion of Military Tactics, Weaponry and the Leaders

  12. War in the Air

  13. The German Drive

  14. Amiens and Arras

  15. The Last Push

  16. Victory

  17. The Aftermath

And as CBC so correctly noted:

"This Series is Dedicated to the Memory of All the People
that served Canada so Bravely
".
